Mini Gaceñiga Authentic Cuban Loaf Cake
Gaceñiga is a rectangular loaf cake born in Cuba, which became a symbol of Cuban confectionery over the vears. The name Gaceniga comes trom the surname of the Italian soprano singer Marietta Gazzaniga, who performed in Havana between 1857 and 1859. The popularity she achieved was so remarkable that a Cuban baker created and named the famous loaf cake
“De Gazzaniga” in her honor. The Italian surname was soon “Cubanized”
